Anna Livia & Croppies Acre

Anna Livia & Croppies Acre

Our guides on board the Bandwagon will tell you the brief history of the Anna Livia bronze monument that is located in Croppies Memorial Park. The striking monument is named after a character in James Joyce’s Finnegans Wake who embodies the River Liffey.

Next to Anna Livia is Croppies Acre, a public park that was traditionally said to have been used as a mass grave for Irish rebels. They were known as Croppies due to their cropped hair.
