Thomas Street

Thomas Street

On the Bandwagon we meander along Thomas Street where we see a plaque commemorating Robert Emmet who was executed in 1803 for high treason and taking part in the rising. The whereabouts of Emmet’s final resting place is one of the abiding mysteries of Irish history. We are ready to hear our musicians play the Irish folk ballad Ringsend Rose. With its soft melody it is an easy listen as we make our way along Thomas Street.
